valley Bugmeze & Magoun (4068 m)
A trek for lovers of wild spacesa journey full of visual contrasts and meetings with the people of the valleys. dates: mid-may to late october.

Day 1: arrive in Marrakesh when you arrive in Marrakesh
You will be met by your guide. you will be transferred to your hotel where you will spend the night. all guests’ rooms are double rooms with en-suite. dependant on your arrival time you may take a guided tour of the city

Day 2: transfer marrakesh to Azila-tizin Oughbar 2200m-azib n ikkis 2250m

Start your day with an early morning breakfast provided by the hotel. you will be met by a guide and transferred to azilal.and on to the col de tizi n oughbar.
will enjoy meeting with your support team for the trek, carriers and cook agouti. while the team load your bags onto the mules you will be served tea, before starting your hike up the wadi arous . take in the panoramic view of the whole mountain range, tizal-rat-azourki. descend into the valley of oued lakhdar and finally arrive in the valley of ait bougmez. spend the night at our camp near the sheepfolds at 2300m. time: 3 hour walk.
Day 3: azib n Ikkis 2250m-col de Tarkedit 3400m-Tarkedit 2900m

today we will slowly climb to the col Tarkedit, following mule trails, starting with a comfortable initial walk before the col. (do not forget to fill water bottles for the day) a few stops before the col check out the magical view of the chain mgoun and the summit mgoun 4068 m. having reached the col, a short descent takes us to the plateau of tarkedit frequented by nomads. we will spend the night here in tents at the encampment. time: 5:30 hours walk .
Day 4: ascension of Tarkedit-M’goun 4071m- Oulilimt 2600mמרוקו 054.jpg

today is our longest day, with those choosing the ascension completing a long steep 8km walk.we depart at 5am, to avoid walking in the middle of heat. beginning with a easy climb, without technical difficulty, in a beautiful landscape. ascension is optional, and for those who don’t wish to take on the climb to the top, there is an alternate route taking on the variation of col-n-ougmar 2970m. as on other days we will picnic for lunch from the ridge observe a panoramic view to the summit; the view is splendid throughout the massif du m’goun, its valleys and into the distance drâa valley and dades. from the summit we will follow a long descent. this day is a little tiring, but well worth the effort with beautiful landscapes. our carriers will join us close to our base where we will camp. time: 9 hrs walk

Day 5: Oulilimt valley-Oulilimt-Tighremt’n Ait Ahmed

although this day is short, starting around 8:00, it’s a great day of discovery. the mule track that we will follow crosses the massive fairy chimneys of beautiful colors (gray, red, green) along our tour there are fewer villages, but there are many nomads protected by cliffs or caves with their herd of goats, sheep and camels. we will have our lunch at the entrance gorges oulilimt (do not forget your swimsuit) and camp in the evening near tighremt n ait ahmed, 2300 m. this was the meeting place of the nomadic caravans from the desert, on their way to sell their goods in cities. this is a great spot to camp time: 5 hrs walk.

Day 6: Tighremt n Ait Ahmed-col Ait imi 2905 m-valley ait Bougmez

we start the day with a small climb slowly towards the col ait imi. on our way we will encounter nomads and their family herds. (ensure you take water in the morning, because there will be no camp before noon). take in the panoramic views from the col of all the surrounding mountains. to the right is wawgoulzat 3760m, Tagafayt, 3700 m, Igoudamene 3600m and 3700m. we face Azourki, tizal , Marabout sidi moussa 3100 m, and behind we are overlooked by mgoun. we then descend to the famous source Ait Imi, taking lunch in the shade in the village of ait Imi. the paths zigzag through the fields and into the groves of walnut trees. we meet with our carriers and spend the night in the region. hot showers are available in the evening in the gite/berber house , time: 6hrs walk.

Day 7: Ait Bougmez-Ouzoud Cascades -Marrakech

travelling back to Marrakesh. we stop off with a visit to the cascades Ouzoud (largest cascades in Morocco, 110m high) we take a short walk in the valley of olive trees to see the monkeys. arriving in the afternoon in marrakech, you will have free time to visit the city.

Day 8: Marrakech city- transfer to the airport
you will have free time until meeting with a guide at your hotel, 2hours prior to your flight. you will be transferred to the airport. we will wish you a good trip and hope that we have the pleasure of meeting you again.

hike to discover the most beautiful valleys of the high & central atlas there is much talk of the beauty of the region of ait bougumez, mgoun gorge and valley of roses. on this trek we will confirm the great beauty and variety of the landscape with valley crossings, visits through berber villages perched on ridges and cliffs, gorges, lunar landscapes and the old kasbah strongholds in the valley of roses

Day 1: arrive in Marrakesh. when you arrive in Marrakesh

Day 2: Marrakesh, col Oughbar, Ait Bougmez valley 2100m
start your day with an early morning breakfast provided by the hotel. you will be met by a guide and transferred to the heart of the valley of ait bougmez, a 5 hour comfortable route. from the pass oughbar at 2200, take in the panoramic view of the mountainous terrain of Tizal, Azourki Magoun (4071m)
in Agouti village we will meet with our caravan carriers, sharing tea with them and then loading baggage and departing on our hike. this afternoons starting trek is a short 2 hours across the fields and through the village of ait imi . in the evening we camp near the source of imi at 2100m time: 5h drive distance: 250 km hike time:2hrs climb .
Day 3: sources Imi, Tiziz Ait ait Imi 2905 m, Tighremt N’ait Ahmed 2250 m
we start early in the morning, around 8 am, to avoid walking in full sun. we begin our day with a long and gradual easy climb up to the pass ait imi. (remember to carry water because there was no water until we bivouac in the evening). we will have lunch at the pass in a spot sheltered from the winds, with splendid views of the happy valley and the distant mountains of mgoun. in the afternoon the path is a long easy descent into the valley ouzighimt. we will observe the installation ait ahmed tighremet an old attic, which was used for desert caravans. tonight we camp riverside at oulilimt 2250 m time: 6h walk
Day 4: Tighremt N’ait Ahmed, Ouzighimt, valley Imin Irkt 2000m
after the physical effort of yesterday, in the heat, today is about comfort; a day of reward! we descend into the valley of ouzighimt, beautiful people and scenery. we walk by the river, crossing a string of berber villages; el morabitine, Ighrem Izderne, and wawchki. along the way you will meet the inhabitants of the valley, women with their hairstyles and their unique costumes of the high atlas central tonight we camp, with a hot shower possible in the evening duration: 5:30 walk.
day 5: Tarzoute , Gorges Mgoun (Achabou), Aguerzaga 1700m
again today an 8am departure, with sandals or tennis shoes required if you do not wish to get your boots wet. we will be following our mules through the most beautiful and spectacular gorges of the Atlas, at times walking in water with a strong cold current. there are narrow gorges (2m wide) and spectacular high cliffs (600m) we lunch at the exit of the gorge enjoying a mint tea at moh. there is further water to be enjoyed in the afternoon until we camp in the evening in front of the village Aguerwaga on the river edge. time: 6 hours walk
Day 6: Aguerzaka , Rose valley , Hdida 1400m
this is a stage of walking and discovery following the Mgoun river. there will be a few passages in the water so carry your sandals or tennis shoes with you. on the hill terraces there is an abundance of lush cultivation, fruit trees, almonds and walnuts. there are more almonds here than the walnut, apple and cerisiers, because it is hotter in the summer as we get closer to the south. lunch will be provided by the river and then we cross fortified villages, fields of crops Roses and fruit trees (fig, almond, apricot…) the roses are picked in the months of april and may for the feast of roses the 1st week of may. we stay the night in Berber house in the heart of the valley of roses duration: 6 hours walk.
day 7: Hdida_ Kelrat of Mgouna_ Skoura_ Ouarzazate_col de Tichka, Marrakech
following a relaxed start to the day and breakfast we travel to Marrakech by the dades road (Kasbah miles). we have lunch just after the highest road pass in Morocco (2260m tichka panoramic view of the Atlas). once settled into your hotel you have free time to visit the town red souk historic gardens duration: 6h drive, 320 kms
Day 8 transfer back to the airoporte
you will have free time until meeting with a guide at your hotel, 2hours prior to your flight. you will be transferred to the airport. we will wish you a good trip and hope that we have the pleasure of meeting you again
